SupMed Project  in Egypt : Implementation of a mobile compost unit in Luxor

Supmed project has invested for collective equipment for local farmers of Luxor by financing a mobile compost unit (a schredder, a compactor and a tractor of 90 cv).
This facility funding by the FFEM is dedicated to valorisation of  agricultural waste by using it for the production of green manure. It will help farmers to increase the fertility and moisture of the ground and to reduce the risks of ground and air pollution by limiting the recourse to chemical fertilizers and sugar cane burning. It will also have an impact on the production costs of local farmers by reducing input purchases.
The compost unit will be located at the headquarters of EASD NGO, partner and prime contractor of the supMed project.
